About Tuyo

Tuyo is a Sports Massage and Pilates Company based in West Bridgford, Nottingham and run by a husband and wife team. Please visit www.tuyopilates.co.uk for details of our Pilates work.
The Sports and Remedial Massage therapy is run by experienced therapist Juan Carlos Leon Benitez.
Juan Carlos is originally from Havana, Cuba and is a former member of the Cuban Gymnastics Team. On retirement from gymnastics he gained a degree in Sports Science from the University of Havana then went on to enjoy an exciting career as a circus acrobat. His work took him all over the world and eventually in 1995 to the UK where he met his wife Jackie. Together they worked as "Tuyo", an acrobatic adagio act. "Tuyo" means "Yours" in Spanish and Juan Carlos and Jackie have continued using the name for their new businesses as it embodies the ethos of the way they approach their work.
Juan Carlos trained as a Sports and remedial Massage Therapist at the internationally renowned London School of Sports Massage. After qualification he gained experience working in both clinics and private practice in London. He has worked with clients ranging from international athletes and professional performers to amateur sports people, older adults, expectant mothers and children.
In September 2009 he relocated to Nottingham and has since continued in private practice. Juan Carlos is one of a select group of experienced practitioners approved by the BAC to treat elite track and field athletes.
Juan Carlos brings the insight of a lifetime of experience of working with his own body and a sound knowledge of anatomy and physiology to the treatment table. He tailors each massage to the particular client providing a personal experience based on their individual needs.
Juan Carlos is a full member of both the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council and upholds the strict standards demanded by both organizations. He is a qualified first aider and holds an enhanced CRB certificate.
